As you may or may not know one of the projects I’m working on right now is a regional girl’s summer camp. Young girls in this country face major challenges as far as continuing their education goes. They are constantly under pressure to put off their studies in order to fulfill household duties. All girls at one time or another face sexual harassment from teachers which is often even encouraged by the girls’ parents who hope their daughters will find a decent husband this way. Many girls, either from a teacher or another student, end up pregnant and are forced to discontinue their studies.
